Christmas cute-sies and cards

These are just a few of the Stamp club projects that we have worked on this year...a few more Christmas cards to come...but since Stamp club is tonight-that would be revealing too much!!

Here are a few Christmassy projects that I've been working on recently. I cased the above pointsettia punchy treat from Karen Thomas' blog-I immediately loved the idea and thought I'd make these for end-of-year gifts for Julia's class.

Holidays and other things...

Here are a bundle of pics from our little holiday last week-which I thought our relatives out there in blogland might appreciate...
What better way to finish a short little holiday (and a cold one at that) than to devour a chocolate icecream...

Govett's Leap lookout

Not often do wew get to see Waratahs growing in the wild-beautiful! I had to restrain from picking them, of course, since they were in a national park.

And, of course the scary man rock (that's our own title for the rock-not its official name)

We toured the Cathedral cave-which was well worth seeing. The photos here came out quite dull-looking-but many of the rocks are quite shiny/glittery.

Blue Lake at the Jenolan Caves-which gets it's blue colour from limestone deposits in the water

Sami had a littleride too!

Julia's horse, "Tom" which she very ably rode all by herself for an hour's ride amongst the beauty of the Megalong Valley.

This sandstone rock seemed a good place for everyone to leave their initials-you'll see ours there next time you visit the Blue Mountains.

The first day into our little holiday turned into a rather COLD and blustery day (which you can't adequately portray in a photo) On the first morning, we woke up to see the pine trees coverered with snow-and a few of the mountain peaks had snow on them too. Needless to say, we came unprepared for snowy weather...next time we will certainly come with our snow jackets.

Blog Dump...

Here's a window into our lives over the last few months...there are some piccys of the kids-especially for Grandparents/aunties & Uncles enjoyment...I'll have a few more photos soon of Julia and her new toothless smile.

These pictures are from last weekend when we climbed to the Booroomba Rocks lookout with the kids-little Sammi climbed all the way to the top and back with a spring in his step! We look forward to more bush-whacking adventures....

I copied this layout from Tanya Blewitt's blog-and used the same template for a few other pages.

Just a few 6"x6" scrapbook pages I have been working on recently...and a Father's day card we made in the stamp club.
My own design-a post-it note purse-which we also made in the stamp club-and I also made it for the recent Stamping Jamboree (which I sadly couldn't attend)

More Father's Day projects...I made the chocolate box for the Father's Day stall at Julia's school . The little shirt box idea I adapted a little-you can also put lollies inside.

Julia dressed as Little Bo Peep for the school book parade-she also made it into the school newsletter as Bo Peep.

A long good-bye to our precious friends, Rick and Helen, and also Dave and Cath and kidlets-we miss you so much already-and it has only been a few weeks...Thanks for your sweet friendship

A Stepper Box that Tanya Blewitt demonstrated at the recent Stampin' Jamboree-Katie then kindly showed me how to put it together-I totally love this Box-Thanks Tanya for this fab idea!!

Things that Happen during the holidays....

A little too much space between posts...we have been busy, and now we are enjoying some holiday time during the school break. Here's a peek into some of our pursuits...

I made this butterfly punchy frame a while ago for Julia's room (which has a butterfly theme) But I was waiting until her new desk arrived to put it to "use" if that is how you could possibly describe something that just sits there and looks pretty.

These lovely clay creations were made by Madame Julia. She is such a creative little girl-I am always amazed at what she comes up with. A creative and imaginative brain she has...I do like to rave (completely un-biased opinion of course)...

A still-enough moment where I have managed to capture both of the kid-lets together without the picture being blurry. Samuel is looking very natural in this photo-CHEEKY, like he's about to get up to something any second...

Mr Trouble himself!! This is what happens when you decide to check your email for 2 minutes while the paints are out...not a good idea. One would have thought I had learnt that lesson...I think he was trying to be a pirate. I'm glad we were only using finger paints.

labels for Sami

It's really not that hard to do, and takes little time-but it does jazz up something that is rather plain. If you are one of those people who like to label everything and make it pretty-then you will like this very simple idea. I just used some of Stampin' Up!'s designer papers with co-ordinating card to punch out these little tags-and labeled them by hand and added them to some very cute little tins I found around town somewhere. And since I made these tins for Sami's room-I thought I'd also show you how happy it made him-just joking, he was just practising smiling-and he came out with some rather interesting faces...

Happy Birthday Timothy!!

It's my nephew's birthday today, and here is the card I made for him. It's called a free-standing pop-up card-and it lays flat for mailing. This is the first one I've made, and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to put together-I'll definitely add it to my list of cool, easy cards. Happy Birthday Tim!

Batman Punchy Card

Well I just had to show you this cool punchy that I designed. Well of course the Batman logo itself is not my design-but I figured out how to make a punchy Batman logo. I thought it turned out well. And for those of you with a keen eye, you'll have to figure out which punches I made it with!! I thought there was very likely some Batman fans out there who might appreciate this for a party invite or on card.

Cheep Talk Waterfall card

I've been trying out some rather fandangled cards lately-you wouldn't believe how many nifty card ideas there are out there. I was given a waterfall card from Katie at Christmas time (I think)-and I have finally taken the time to make one myself-so here's my creation using the "Cheep Talk" stamp set from Stampin' Up! I have also included a photo of a little journal I covered using S'U! Designer Series Papers.

Stampin' Up! Convention photo

I was lucky enough to be persuaded to go to the Stampin' Up! convention last weekend (by my hubby) As you know, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and learned a lot of new ideas. During the weekend, a professional photograper was roaming around taking photos. Here is a photo of me, and some of my fellow stamping friends-which just happened to feature on Shelli's personal blog. So I feel a bit chuffed to have a photo of our group posted there. Shelli is the CEO and co-founder of Stampin' Up! I won't bother adding the photo here-you can see it on the link above (if you're keen)

Some recent projects for your inspiraton...

I have been making a variety of different things lately. There is nothing I love to make more than cute boxes, and gifty things. The problem with posting these gift ideas on a blog-is that some of my friends who read my blog might actually get a sneek-peak before they have actually received it! If you have secured a spot in my stamp club-you might even get to make a few of these projects yourself!

Stampin' Up! Demostrator opportunity...

As I have already mentioned in a previous post, Stampin' Up! is having (for limited time) a Scrapbooking Starter kit-which is available for $150!! Super bargain. This enables you to get started as a demonstrator-and offers you all the discounts and benefits of a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, as well as an endless list of ideas, and things to create. One thing that I particularly appreciated when joining was the ease at which you can get started...there was no hairy accounting required, or large amounts of paperwork. With those worries aside, I could just enjoy the endless ideas for gifts/cards etc.
The kit contains all the business supplies needed to get started. You can join up for any reason-as a hobby-ist, something to supplement the household income, or to make a full-time job out of it... Now is a fantastic time to join-especially if you already love Stampin' Up! products and want to be able to purchase them at a discount-or even earn a little money! You can join for as little or as long as you like! I have thoroughly enjoyed the friendships I have made, and the creative outlet this has been for me! I know this picture is small, and you can't read the details-but if you are interested in joining our team, or want to know more, leave me a comment-and I will be happy to talk with you about it. You can see it online here too: http://www3.stampinup.com/au/ena/default.asp

Stampin' Up! Convention 2009...

This is my swap-which hasn't shown up too well due to my poor photo-taking skills. The black roses are embossed (which is hard to see)

This gorgeous little bag was so simple-and is filled with 4 cute little love-note-sized cards-super cute!

Well this year, Stampin' Up!'s annual convention was held in Canberra (Yay) After much deliberating about whether or not to go-it was actually my hubby who encouraged me to go. I must say, I was very greatful for the opportunity as he has been away overseas for most of the school holidays-and I was in need of a pleasant reprieve. I immensely enjoyed myself (who wouldn't)-and it was great to go together with a bunch of friends (who are demonstrators of course). My poor head is exploding with great new ideas-and new techniques. A whole 2 days of fun can actually be exhausting-would you believe it! So, be prepared, I have some new ideas in my little old head...Here are a few photos of the Make-and-Take projects we did at convention. I haven't yet completed the scrapbook page, but I'll show it to you when I have added the photos. Also, I have a photo there of the swap I made for convention (green glittery rose/black card). I was also a wee bit chuffed to see 2 of my cards on the display board at convention-I had almost forgotten about sending them in (a few months ago) and there they were...
