Gifts to make for Christmas (or any time)

Here's an idea I copied from a notebook I actually bought (gasp!) from another Stampin' Up! demonstrator at a recent fete I went to. I had to work out how it was actually made. This is how I figured it must have been put together.

Materials used: Le Jardin designer series paper, co-ordinating card, plain heavy card, snail adhesive, 1.6cm grosgrain ribbon, Carte Postale stamp set, and of course ink, blank note pad.

2 pieces of heavy card: 9x13cm
1 piece printed paper 17x9cm
2 pieces co-ordinating printed paper 10x30
2 pieces of card 8 1/2 x 12 1/2 cm

Step 1:Lay the 2 pieces of heavy card down in the center of the 10x30cm piece of printed paper, leaving approx. 2cm in the centre to form a spine for the booklet. Secure in place with the snail adhesive.

Step 2: Fold both ends of the paper up-and secure with snail adhesive

Step 3: Place the 17x9cm piece of paper slightly overlapping the spine piece, and cover over the ends-much like covering a book. At this point, add any embelishments-like ribbon, or a pen holder loop-so that they can be covered in the final step.

Step 4: Cut 2 pieces of co-ordinating cardboard (8 1/2cm X 12 1/2 cm) Adhere these over the inside cover-to hide the rough edges-and give a more finished look.

Step 5: Finally, add any embellishment that suites your fancy to the front cover-and you have a quick and easy, and inexpensive gift for someone you love.
