Very soon my nieces and nephews are coming on over to the Yamazakis for some Christmas delights. For Crafty people, Christmas is a great time to get those creative juices flowing-so the kids are coming over for a Christmas-y time and some crafts. The girls are making these little Christmas tree ornaments. I saw a similar idea on Pinterest, but since Christmas is all about the birth of Jesus-I thought I'd make the little scene inside the cup a little manger scene. Samuel and his year 2 class also made these on their last day of school. The rest of the nieces and Nephews are also making another craft-but I will post on that later….
My cousin, Jason, recently married the lovely Amelia in Melbourne. We were privileged to attend their beautiful wedding. It's not that often that I make a wedding card, but this occasion definitely called for something special.
In the previous holidays we had a girly crafting day with my nieces and Julia. When you have a bunch of brothers it's nice to have some girly time for crafting and high tea. The girls decorated the front of a little notebook-which they seemed to enjoy.
This card started with a far more lofty idea (that didn't eventuate) for my (Rapunzel-crazy) niece's birthday on the weekend. I am still pondering over my initial creative idea. It requires a bit of thinking.... Rapunzel joins her other Disney/Pixar punchart friends collection.
Just a few wee cards that I have created recently. The Christmas-y card you might have seen a card I made very similar to this before. I really kept all the colours/layout the same, and just changed the Christmas wise men (from the previous card) into this cute little girl on a snowy night. The dinosaur card started out with far more lofty ideas in my head, and then came back down to something quite simple. I thought the finished product needed a little more, so I added the eyeballs.
With the new 2013-2014 Catalogue launch just weeks away, I am getting itchy fingers for some of the beautiful new products on offer. You'll have to wait and see.... not long now :)
Well I've been using up quite a few cards recently...That's what you're supposed to do with cards isn't it? At the moment, I am just trying to keep up with all those events in my life that warrant a card. Happy Birthdays, and New babies are a-plenty at the moment, but every so often one of those times in your life that you wish you didn't have-and a get well card is needed for a dear friend with a big fight ahead. Here's a little card that I made with a little inspiration from my Pinterest pinning.
I also made this Minecraft card for my Nephew recently. I wonder if he'll ever forgive me for giving Minecraft man Steve a circle for a nose :)
I loved this stamp set (Perfectly Preserved) as soon as I saw all the cute things you could do with it! I have had it for a few months now, but not had a chance to play with it until now (funny how moving interstate does that). I love how you can cut out the jars/fruit with the coordinating die-making windows in cute little boxes, and cute little cut-outs in cards, etc. Here are just a few cards I made-but I'm itching to get to some other ideas I have seen with this gorgeous set.
I CASED this very simple, but stylish card from Jen Nelson. I really love the earthy colours.
These cute little milk carton boxes with a die cut window I also CASED from Christine Miller
with one or two tiny changes.
After being inspired by the above sample, I came up with my own card below using the "Perfectly Preserved" stamp set and coordinating dies.
Well Mr O's long-anticipated birthday finally arrived. In keeping with the Monster's Inc. theme, my clever sister made a gorgeous cake complete with Sulley, Mike, and Boo. I also felt the occasion a good time to design a Monster's Inc punch art set for a waterfall card. I had fun trying to use punches to capture the look/character of the Monster.
Since Owen is learning to read, I also used a bit of stamping here and there to jazz up these birthday readers
Hi everyone, well it has been quite some time since I posted any of my creations. Moving house interstate, and all that this entails has sucked it out of me. Today is the first day I have picked up my stamps. I figured that the housework could wait today, I was in need of some creativity. Nothing quite like being in need of a bunch of cards to spur me on either. I really liked this surprise pop-up card. It really was quite easy to make (which is always very pleasing) and it folds down flat so you can put it in the mail.
I made these party Boxes for Samuel's Minecraft birthday party using the Fancy Favour Bigz XL die
