I have been playing around with the new Stitched Stockings stamp set (which I love).... Just trying to come up with ideas that are super cute, and not neccessarily Christmas related. So far I have come up with these 2 cards-but when I have had some time to play a bit more, I am sure more inspiration will come!

Below are a few gorgeous projects made by my stamping sisters-the "Pretty-n-Ink" team. I always come away with loads of inspiration from their creations-sometimes just what I need to get a creative kick-start. Often the inspiration may come from the card layout, or just one tiny element on the card...

My first attempt at a garden invite for a friend.... 2nd attempt was more successful, and fit the specifics of what my friend wanted.... I also added a little spade next to the pot (but they only arrived in the mail today, and didn't make the photo)

Book Week Characters

This week was book week. We had a few tears about costumes (the issue of wishing to just go and buy one off the shelf). I would rather encourage creativity, and think of how I can encourage my kids to think outside the box, and use creativity to think up something more original. Both of the kids were happy with the outcome. It took some time, but it was fun working on something together...

I was most impressed by this gorgeous card designed by the lovely Tania-I love that flower. I have since made the same flower (in a different colour) for a little brooch, but using the glue gun instead. I loooove cute things that are quick and easy!

Visit to Townsville

We headed to Townsville for a week during the school holidays to see what my brother, Samuel, was up to-and to make sure he wasn't getting into mischief after leaving home for the first time. To be sure, he is getting on just fine, and we enjoyed poking around Townsville and its' many beautiful water parks/features. It just makes coming home to the cold that much harder to bear. We went from a lovely 25* to -8* overnight-a bit rude really... counting down the days until winter leaves....

Sydney Trip

This amazing wall mural was made using tiny leg blocks-very intricate!

So glad Julia got a butterfly to land on her. Last time we were here, she waited so patiently-but to no avail.

We promised Sami back in January that we'd go and see the LEGO exhibits at Sydney Wildlife World, and Sydney Aquarium-well we finally got around to it! Amazing to see these LEGO statues-I can't imagine how long it would have taken to build-especially since just one little model takes so long.... Great patience

Rose, I just decided to keep it simple-and simplified your version of the card. I didn't put a sentiment on the card-which makes it suitable for any occasion really....

And then there are my kids, getting up to fun and mischief at Black Mountain Tower.

I always find it hard to come up with a card with a Male theme. Which would be fine except that-Men have birthdays too! Gasp! I was inspired by the very talented Katie's gorgeous card she made using the "Motorcycle" stamp set. Here's what I came up with... a totally CASED version of Katie's card (give or take a few differences) , and then my own design using the "Motorcycle" stamp.

Katie-my wonderful, and very talented upline, showed us how to make this card with the "Pattern Pieces" set from the new mini.

A few weeks ago, the Pretty-n-Ink team did a swap using stamps from the new Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue. I think we outdid ourselves-what gorgeous cards everyone came up with! And a double bonus to have to fabulous cards to get ideas from.

We also had a few days at the Coast at our favourite little spot-just relaxing, swimming, riding bikes, eating, and collecting shells-forget the housework-it's great to get away from it all just for a few days.

I had plenty of icing left over, so the kids had a turn decorating some of their own biscuits

I've been reading the sweetopia blog for a while now. I find so much creative inspiration from this gorgeous blog. This is my first try at making royal icing and decorating biscuits with it. I was very happy with the result, and in the future will try out some more challenging ideas with royal icing. I love that the icing completely dries and you can wrap the cookie up in a bag without the icing sticking to anything!
Ken gave me a Digital SLR camera for my birthday (although I suspect that he really wants to use it a LOT). Now you can expect to see some better photos in my posts...but for now, we are just playing around with the camera, and learning how it works.

I made a few bookmarks on the weekend for a friend-this is what I came up with. It was good to get out "Pun Fun" again and have a play....

The "Embrace Life" stamp set is one of my favourites-can't you tell-it makes a lovely card so simple to make.

I am now currently busy making goodies for Sami's 5th birthday, which is just around the corner-the theme this year is LEGO-I'll show you what I made for his party some time soon....

"Cars" Board Game

I made this "Cars" board game about a week or so ago using some pretty simple items: Some super-cool wrapping paper, some star and circle punches, cardstock, and some imagination. Since I didn't have my little guy in mind when I made it, I will have to make another, because he took one look and thought it was for him (and how could I let him down?) Perhaps I'll make him a lego one for his upcoming birthday. Thinking, thinking....

And this wee little card was also made for someone special who helped me out of a pickle-thankyou!

Since it is Sale-a-Bration time-I thought I'd show you some cards I've made using sets from the sale-a-bration catalogue

These two cards were inspired by 2 lovely cards made by Sarah Wills @ sarahsinkspot.com-some of the elements/colours are a little different, but the main idea came from browsing through her lovely blog.

I made this 6x6 inch page yesterday at a Stampin' Up! party-the inspiration come from the front page of the Sale-a-Bration catalogue where they have made a similar page with a few different elements

And look what my sweet Julia prepared to greet Daddy coming home from work-she's a jem-that girl of mine!

Julia seems to get all her inspiration and motivation at night-when all her homework is done-and her brother is in bed...this is what she came up with as she was going through the "Learn to Draw" book

Pooh Bear Trilogy...

Thanks Aunty Angela for screen printing these Ninjago shirts for Sami and Jules for the school social. They practiced their moves-and made quite the ninja for the school social

We attempted to make this Pooh Bear Trilogy of creations at Stamp club on Friday night. It took quite a lot longer than usual (due to the punch art taking so long)-but we all managed to complete all 3 projects... Next time we will work on some projects that don't seem so daunting to accomplish in a few hours on a Friday night.

Obviously we have many photos of Samuel and his many fantastic Lego creations, but alas, we seem to never have the photos printed out so that I can actually put them on my pages... next job on my list...

Julia and Samuel head off to school together this year-Samuel is excited to be going to "Big" school with Julia this year... here they are this morning before heading off to school. Samuel insisted that he wanted to have pirate eyes and a pirate scowl in the photo :)

Looks like I'm having a good time creating-can't you see my grubby fingers! Gasp! You can always tell a stamper by their permanently ink-stained fingers... :)

Last night at the very talented Miss Katie's house, we made a gorgeous vintage-y card...hhmmmm, maybe I'll have to upload that some time to show you-but it got me thinking about using the same idea on a Christmas candle. For those of you who have made these candles before, I decided not to cut out each shape individually before "adhering" on to the candle, rather, it is just the one piece-which works well with the vintage style, me thinks.... I also had these thin magnet sheets from another project lying around, and I thought I'd make Mr and Mrs Owl into some fridge magnets... I also made these fabric brooches using the Flower Folds die for the lovely ladies in the Pretty-n-Ink's group....

I've been trying to use my punches for more than creating just the obvious (in this case-an owl). I suppose you could also make Mr Owl to add to the Hundred Acre Wood collection-but I'm not too sure about Tigger and Roo...

Male Cards for Stamp Club

I made this Christmas-y cake as a little treat box for the ladies to take home with them-there are many a template available online to create these gorgeous cakes in various styles/sizes

I CASED this gorgeous owl card from Tenealle Williams' blog, and we ended up maing a slight alteration by replacing the bow with a strip of Designer Series Paper (matching the striped piece)-this made it look a bit more masculine. I love Tenealle's work-she is a genuine artisan!

I saw this card on Karen Thomas' blog-and loved it straight away-so I CASED this design-she does some gorgeous work-check out her blog...

We have just had our last Stamp club for the year as from now on the Christmas festivities make life pick up it's pace... We made our Christmas cards earlier this year so that we all had enough time to create them before Christmas. So for our final class we made masculine cards-as had been requested.

Would you believe, I have never made a Santa Card before. The reason for this being that we Celebrate the birth of Jesus at Christmas, our Saviour who came to earth to save us. And Christmas is a great opportunity to remember the ultimate sacrifice that was paid on our behalf-so Santa-you don't fit the bill! But, I was trying to make a Christmas card using my red, green, and White Jelly beans, and the sweet treat cups. And I came across the rather cute Punch-art on Patti Lee's blog-and I thought I'd make a fat Santa with jelly beans in his tummy. So here it is...

I'm lovin' this "Elements of Style" stamp set. I love the dainty and yet stylish flourishes that are so versatile in this set. I thought I'd put to use some gold embossing powder I had, but hadn't used much recently, some shimmer paint (hard to see in the photo), and some pearls.

I found this notepad and pencil holder on Nicole Heady's blog -the instructions and download-able template are on her blog too. I cut the note pad to size because I couldn't find a notepad with the dimensions for the one on Nicole's blog. Next time, I think I will just use a larger notepad and change the dimensions of the template. A rather nifty thankyou gift if I do say so myself!

The kids have both been home sick this week... I must say, I don't mind not having the school run to do in the afternoon. Julia misses school so much that she is playing school with Samuel (she makes for a rather bossy teacher, I must say) Julia is very happy to have lost another tooth-she most enjoys the fact that she gets some pocket money for losing a tooth-and she doesn't even have to earn it! Perhaps the Tooth Fairy should be less generous!

Well I've been wanting to try out this "patchwork" style of card, but hadn't quite found the time until now. I started out with this flower embellishment, but then had another idea, which I think suites the season better-so I made a quick switch, and am happier with the result.

It is that time of the year again, when the shops start putting Christmas decorations up, and selling Christmas paraphernalia-and we all scream "It's too early for that!" But if you're planning on doing something creative for Christmas-now is definitely the time to be planning ahead (that's my excuse anyway)-and starting to think about Christmas cards etc. Here's one little card I made using a variety of the papers from the "Jolly Holly" pack of DSP's and this cute Stamp from the "Delightful Decorations" Stamp set. I will post some more Christmas cards using this set in the next few weeks. The pink card is made using the "Elements of Style" set, and using the stained-glass window technique. Last Thursday night we had our Pretty-n-Ink gathering-which is a lovely gathering of ladies who are my Stampin' Up! Demonstrator sisters with Katie M. as our upline. Home again after 5 weeks away visiting family in Ottawa... Samuel cried most of the way home (every time he remembered he was leaving his cousins behind)-Julia will miss them heaps as well.

Today Julia has her best friend, the lovely Sarah C. over-those two are inseparable! So I thought I'd get out the shrink art jewelry books that we brought back with us from Canada and play around with StazOn Ink/acrylic paint and my stamps and punches. Punches work really well with shrink art plastic. I made these cute little earrings for a sweet young lady... I also made this paper bead bracelet whilst away. You didn't think paper was that versatile now did you? When I get a chance, I am definitely trying out some more cute shrink art jewelry ideas.

Hi everyone, I thought I'd share what I've been playing with today. The inspiration came from a tissue box, of all things. Just keeping the cards simple, and trying to use colours other than blue and pinks, and monotone combinations. Last night I also made a rather beautiful 12 x 12 scrapbook page-which was designed by the ever-talented Katie. As we were having a lazy Saturday morning, and little Miss was begging me to help her sew-I thought I'd try seeing what we could make using some felt cut through the Big Shot. I came up with this wee little rose (using the scallop Circle Die), and whipped it up together to make this little hair tie. It would also look cute atop a little box, me thinks...

Just been playin' around with the hostess set "Asian Artistry" which is from the

new Mini catalogue. I wanted to keep the note book very simple-it didn't turn out quite as planned-but it's just for me-so I'm happy! And the little cards at the bottom, I was trying to get a better handle on collage stamping. I'll get it eventually-maybe I'll add some more colour next time...still trying new things

Holiday Fun

This past weekend, we headed off on a spur-of-the-moment sort of weekend away. The weather was perfect-the only problem was that it wasn't long enough-but I'm not complaining. The kids always have a ball at the beach-especially when Dad gets in and makes super-sized holes in the sand! Julia also likes being a sand creature-this time, a mermaid...if only she would stay still long enough! Samuel didn't have a chance at this-he squirmed out too fast! Just enjoying the slower pace during the school holidays-still in my pyjamas even as I type...
